Megan And BJ

I have sooooo been looking forward to posting about their wedding! I was able to have extra time for formals and I totally love more time to be creative!

First I'll start with an image of the two of them right after they got married riding in the limo.
These next two have got to be some of my favorite pictures from the day. This is right before we started the formals.
All the girls were taking off their heels and well hello how could you not take a picture of the shoes!! This by the way is one of those times when I say I know this looks super strange as I am laying down on the grass... but just wait till you see the picture!! I might even be a little giddy while saying it!!
I love these pictures of Megan and BJ.

I might have said this before but I love it when I can use the Dj's lights.

Big day out...

I got an official day off and this is what I did.....

Yesterday was one of the best days I have had in a while. It started out like any other morning except I had a craving for waffle house and wanted coffee from Starbucks with my best friends Janet and Ej. Then as we were sitting outside enjoying the most beautiful day I exclaimed LET'S GO SHOOT!! We always talk abut it shooting for ourselves but we never do and what a perfect day. So, with our bellies stuffed we headed downtown to see what we could find.

This is the start to our big day out.

We all had one lens we could shoot with and one we hardly ever use. So we started out shooting the same things.

This one is taken by EJ.

Okay and this one too...I LOVE this!!!

These are mine.

When I first starting taking pictures my favorite thing to photograph was architecture. So it was awesome to be able to find a place with such amazing lines and light.

We stopped at a place that was an old factory that was being turned into lofts. Hopefully I will be living in one of these soon or we will have a studio in here.

This is where I got to really have fun and I might have ...maybe...been planning this shot from the beginning.....I asked Ej to sit first and then told J to put her camera down and sit beside him with her back to his shoulder. The kiss and smile happened all by itself. I have to say this is my favorite shot by far. I was so excited to capture their love for each other.

Way cute couples.

I wanted to share a few images from recent engagement sessions. I have been wanting to do something different lately and Laurice and Rod were the first to say yes to my requests YAY! By the way I love them!

We started out taking pictures at the church where they are getting married in Commerce. I noticed across the street there was this old gas station and in the back were some car tires soooo we headed over and this is what I got.

And these next few images I used a different processing technique that I was inspired by another photographer Jesh De Rox.

What would a session be without fun and laughter!

My other fabulous couple is Amanda and Eric. We went into downtown Norcross and I have to say I want to start doing sessions in small towns or in urban environments!

Okay, I know it's another railroad track but I love it. I use to not like shooting on railroad tracks because I thought it was cheesy or generic...now I feel um a little different.

A little fun at the local playground.

I love everything about this shot, the mood, light, reflection and did I mention light?

Meghan And Jeff

I love Jeff and Meghan!!! Okay I know I say that about every couple but Seriously they are so great! I photographed Mandy and Troys wedding last year and Jeff was Troys best man. This wedding was truly a reunion in that I got to see families and friends that I had seen at other weddings. Here's one of all time favorite getting ready shots.

Her dress was so Amazing I just had to show it off.

I have been wanting to shoot this type of shot for FOREVER! I finally had a wedding venue with veranda doors.

This is Mandy and Troy.... I love how they are looking at Meghan and Jeff.

Gratitude

Okay so for the record...I am writing this at 2 am and if I'm not so um coherent I want you to know why.

If your wondering, like I am why I am writing at 2 am it's to express my gratitude for what I have. I just got home after working 12 hours and I can't even call it work. I have spent about 50 or 60 hours in the last week and a half working with Ej and Janet on our first movie. Tonight we came very close to our final editing stages. Before I left we had to see the reception footage...... now I am crying again.......for the 4th no 5th okay 6th time this evening....no morning. I have to say that we were so overwhelmed by the beauty and greatness that we get to work and be a part of everyday. I am really excited to show you the finished product but that's not what I am talking about.

What I am talking about is the feeling of happiness. I heard a phrase recently that has stuck with me.... she said she felt free to be happy. Tonight as I was driving home I had my windows down and enjoyed the warm air, the smells, and wanted to share with you guys that if you take a few seconds out of your day and stop and take in the beauty around you how amazing you can feel.

Okay, okay I am getting a bit preachy ....sorry....I might delete this when I wake up and realize how tired I was and feel goofy for saying this. I know that there are times when you feel like..... how can I have time for happiness or stop and be still and find something beautiful? I too have had struggled with these thoughts lately. As some of you may know I have a very rough two months. I feel that the things that have happened to me have helped me to become a stronger person. I have stopped focusing on the stress in my life and what I don't have instead I am choosing to concentrate on being thankful for the things I do have.

I guess what I am saying is I am very thankful for everything in my life and I wanted to share my feelings with you, and hopefully all your days be filled with happiness, too.

One wedding, hoedown and a great couple

I had a request from one of my stalkers to update my blog. I do love my stalkers and they keep me in line.

I have wanted to post about Maria and Russells wedding for a while now. Their rehearsal dinner was a hoedown which by the way was very cool.

I'll start with that ....I love this shot ......she is totally all about I am driving this home.

One of her Aunts made this cake isn't it Fabulous!!!

The hoedown took place on Russells parents land. So we did a few pictures of them on the farm. By the way it was gorgeous!

This is one of those images you don't plan and was super happy I saw this. I got down low to take a picture of the flower girl getting her hair done and looked up at Maria and saw the glow from the light in the other room. I love it because it's a star shape and brides are totally stars on their wedding day.

Their wedding was outside and they were very back lit. I noticed shadows as everyone walked out and it was only the children that I thought looked perfect.

One of my all time favorite shots ever of a bride and groom walking down the isle.

I hardly ever show reception shots so starting today I am. This has to be one of my favorite garter pics.

These last three images are from their last dance. Can you feel the love ...not the song from Lion King but the newlywed love.

My first teaser and plug

I photographed the coolest wedding a few weeks ago. It was a French and American wedding. Instead of the wedding traditions that we are used to. They had skits, songs, and after they cut the cake the wedding party served the guests. I thought this was such a wonderful touch to the reception.

I love when couples see each other before the ceremony. We had extra time to do formals. Here are some of my fav's.

As we were walking down to this cool wall of evergreen trees we walked by this small opening and it was this hidden old broken down building. I HAD to get shots in there. I think everyone thought I was crazy and thought it was really great!

And this is the spot I asked her to climb through. Courtney took this shot.

I love this shot of them at the reception. I'll show more of the reception later it was a fabulous.

So on to the plug.....Fox 5 news has a best of/what's hot in Atlanta and they have a wedding section. It just so happens that I am listed and also my fabulous pals Blue World Studios. So that's the plug to vote us and other fabulous vendors such as Carla with On Occasions, Event Perfect, Lee Epting, Tamela with Southern Bouquets and other fabulous vendors!!!!!
